Grafana on CloudSonic

Visualise CPU, memory, PHP, Redis, and database performance across every CloudSonic server in real time

TL;DR Grafana

Grafana dashboards connect to Prometheus metrics on every CloudSonic server via Tailscale, giving you real time visibility into server performance without exposing ports.

Grafana is an open source analytics and visualisation platform for building dashboards and monitoring server and application metrics. On CloudSonic it connects to the Prometheus metrics collected from every server, giving you real time visibility into CPU, memory, disk, network, Nginx request rates, PHP-FPM pool utilisation, and database performance. All metrics on CloudSonic are accessible only via Tailscale so your monitoring infrastructure is never exposed to the public internet.

Prerequisites

Grafana for Server Monitoring on CloudSonic

Grafana connects to the Prometheus instance collecting metrics from your CloudSonic server over your private Tailscale network, giving you real time dashboards for CPU, memory, disk, network, Nginx request rates, PHP-FPM pool utilisation, Redis cache hit rates, and database query performance. You can run Grafana on a separate server, a local machine, or Grafana Cloud and connect it securely through Tailscale without opening any public ports. All Prometheus exporters on CloudSonic are bound to localhost and the Tailscale interface, so your metrics are completely isolated from the public internet regardless of how you access them.

Warning Grafana dashboards are accessible to anyone on your Tailscale network, so ensure your tailnet access controls are configured appropriately if you share your Tailscale account with others.
