PHP on CloudSonic

Run PHP applications on your CloudSonic server across multiple versions with OPcache and JIT enabled out of the box

TL;DR PHP

CloudSonic manages PHP for you, supporting versions 8.1 through the latest stable release via the Ondrej PPA with OPcache, JIT, and PHP-FPM tuned to your server RAM.

PHP is the server-side scripting language that powers WordPress and the majority of web applications hosted on CloudSonic. CloudSonic manages PHP for you, supporting multiple versions simultaneously so legacy and modern applications can coexist on the same server without conflict. The underlying PHP environment including extensions, memory limits, upload sizes, and execution timeouts is configured and maintained by CloudSonic for a production hosting environment.

Prerequisites

PHP as the Application Runtime on CloudSonic

CloudSonic manages PHP via the Ondrej Surý PPA, which provides more current PHP releases than the versions bundled with Ubuntu and supports multiple PHP versions running simultaneously on the same server. PHP is configured with production-appropriate memory limits, upload sizes, execution timeouts, and error logging defaults, with OPcache and JIT enabled and PHP-FPM pool settings tuned to available server RAM. You can switch PHP versions per site from your CloudSonic dashboard without affecting other sites on the same server.
