Git on CloudSonic

Deploy code to your CloudSonic server with a simple git pull, no proprietary tooling required

TL;DR Git

Git is available on every CloudSonic server so you can deploy your code directly via Git push, clone repositories, and manage your codebase from the command line.

Git is available on every CloudSonic server, giving you a straightforward way to deploy code by pushing from your local machine or pulling from a remote repository. CloudSonic's full root access means you can configure Git hooks, set up automated deployments, and integrate with GitHub or GitLab using any workflow that suits your team. Whether you are deploying a WordPress theme, a custom PHP application, or a Node.js API, Git gives you version control, rollback capability, and a repeatable deployment process.

Prerequisites

Git for Deployment on CloudSonic

Git is available on every CloudSonic server and can be used to pull code from any remote repository or receive pushes from your local machine via SSH on port 2222. CloudSonic's full root access means you can configure Git hooks to automatically clear caches, run database migrations, or restart services on every deployment, and you can integrate with GitHub or GitLab CI/CD pipelines using SSH keys stored in your pipeline's secret management. Any Git-based deployment workflow that works on a self-managed server works identically on CloudSonic.

Warning Never commit credentials, SSH keys, or environment files to a Git repository; use a .gitignore file to exclude sensitive files from the start.
